Dr. Gonzalo V. Gomez-Saez
Group Leader / PI
Gonzalo´s main research interest is the investigation of coastal and marine biogeochemical processes affecting organic matter, carbon and sulfur cycling in a large spectrum of low-oxygen environments.
CV (updated 08/24)
Dr. Ömer K. Coskun
Postdoc
Ömer´s research interests are related to the fields of microbial ecology and environmental microbiology in a wide range of environments such as hydrothermal ecosystems, freshwater and marine sediments.
Marit Renken
PhD Student
Marit is working as a doctoral student on experimental geochemistry.
In her PhD, Marit investigates the cycling of dissolved organic matter in anoxic waters in the context of ocean deoxygenation and climate change.
Marina García Llorca
PhD Student
Marina is working as a doctoral student on experimental geomicrobiology.
In her PhD, Marina investigates the interplay between microbial activities and dissolved organic matter in the context of ocean deoxygenation and climate change.
Katharina Muschler
Master Student
Kathi worked for two years in our group, including her Master Thesis from the MGAP program. She investigated microbial communities adaptations in oxic-anoxic interfaces.
Alumni
Dr. David Velázquez
Visiting Researcher
Center for Advanced Studies (CAS-LMU)
David visited our group during summer 2024. His research focuses on the diversity of terrestrial ecosystems in Antarctica and the Arctic in response to climate change.
